Wow…..that was some build. I would have been sweating bullets on those builds. Especially when you had the problem of the wifi card not working and then the slave unit not turning on. Thanks for sharing Carey. That was a great learning experience for me.

  2. Edward Gold says

Protools and Cubase are two of the most used Digital Audio Workstations. Both very powerful. Both use a lot of CPU time.

Hey Carey, I have a possible reason why some PSU manufacturers includes the "booze" bag. With the price you pay, they want you to feel you're getting a premium product so they put a lot of effort to make that happen. I agree with you, a waste of money. Unless the booze bag is to protect the PSU during shipping? Who knows. The bag is probably worth and adds $1.00 to the cost. The sticker is just for advertising so if friends or family sees it, chances are they will ask about it hence making them buy it for this PC since you were happy with their product. The sticker adds about $0.25 to the cost too haha.

Since this video is nearly 5 years old, do you have a more recent DAW build? Also I found that http://www.michaelohurwitz.com/ is no longer a valid domain name, that is the website no longer exists.

thank you for explaining the use of adhesive tape for lubricating the thermal paste on the Cpu. I now also apply the technique to all my Cpu / Gpu's.

  19. Eric Gudmunsen says

I enjoyed that! I'm just about to build a similar rig with the same heatsink but my gpu is way smaller so I should be okay.I really think that you should have put in the Benny Hill theme when you were replacing the motherboard though. ?Thanks for your efforts.

A DAW build is what i'm interested in building next, so the parts are of real interest. I'm just going to try to do it cheaper. I've built a few computers, so I know how to do it, but your vids always provide tips all system builders can use. Thanks for all you do! Keep them coming! Question: what do you recommend for silent PCUs? I like CoolerMaster, but haven't seen their product much lately.

I use Cubase. I do not need too much of this hardware as I have a workstation keyboard that has its own abilities …I am old school but I am learning more and more about software but I will Never loop or take others work and make a PC gen "beat" to it. That's all great for the kids but I write my music. Shout out to this video man. That's a ton of stuff. lol.

Hi Carey. Great video. I am not a beginner but very interested in the outcome and how well the unit performed? Why?, because I built a unit for me for the same application my main DAW!. Do you know if the client is getting a clean sound from the unit? I current am having clicks and pops that I can't control. Any advice?

  43. Elsif says

This was great I would love to see more use-specific build types, especially DAW. I love gaming, but EVERY video is about FPS 🙂
